Make My Monday...

Our theme this week is "Flowers". We hope you will join us at the MMM blog and submit a flower themed project for a chance to be in our "Top 3".

For my card, I used a blue cardstock base, covered with Kaisercraft paper. I then added a few layers - orange paper and a piece of white mulberry paper. For the image, I used a flower stamp, coloring it with SU markers. Finally I added the sentiment sticker from Jillibean Soup.

We will be taking a break during the month of August. In September, the Make My Monday team will return, along with 4 new DT members! So get ready for lots of fun new challenges and projects in the fall!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Using die cuts and punches

I have an article up on the Unruly Paper Arts blogozine today. This month, the team is featuring ways to use die cuts and punches. I hope that you will check my article out. Below is a page from my large journal, showing one of the ways I use die cuts.

Sea Side Splendor

Today I am sharing my Gecko Galz projects for July. The theme is Sea Side Splendor and there are sooo many wonderful Gecko images to choose from!! First up is a card I made.

To make this card, I began with a light blue card base. Next, I cut the Namaste paper to fit the card, leaving a small border. Then I cut the Sea Side paper slightly smaller and layered it onto the Namaste paper. The boy image was fussy cut and adhered to the card. I printed Beachy Jewels and punched out 3 of them. The edges were inked and the images glued to chipboard squares and finally adhered to the card.

Here are the directions for the ATC's (above). I used black cardstock to cut three ATC's (2.5" x 3.5"). The background paper on the mermaid ATC is Fizzy Water from the By the Shore paper pack. I adhered the mermaid image (from Sea Nymphs #1) and the word "magic". The middle ATC is an image from By the Shore collage sheet #1. I added sequins and the words "summer fun". The ATC on the right also uses an image from By the Shore #1. The background paper is from the Namaste papers (#3). I added the word "treasure".

Here is this month's free digi image from Gecko Galz. Enjoy!

New week, new challenges!

Hi, I want to share two new challenges - the first is at Make My Monday. The theme was picked by me and is Steampunk. My card is below.

I have two goals for the rest of this year: use up stash and use my rubber stamps! I believe I did that on this card - the 3 men are stamped and the embellishments are from my stash. The card background is embossed and the blue gears are die cut. The hot air balloon is a transparency and the pocket watch is chipboard. The word banner is from My Mind's Eye.

The challenge at Ooh La La Creations for the next two weeks is Christmas in July. My card is made with the Yesterday's Memories CD. I used the Puppy Love paper and Toppers. The gold frame, bow and 12 Days of Christmas sticker are from my stash. I cut the greenery from a Kaisercraft die.

It would be great to have you link up your projects at Make My Monday and Ooh La La Creations - please join in the challenges! Have a wonderful week!

Anything but a Card

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge at Make My Monday! The theme this week is to make "Anything but a Card". I decorated an antique children's plate, which I found at a flea market.

I used a vintage image, fussy cut her out and then attached her to the plate with purple leaves tucked behind as wings. I added purple Prima flowers with clear gem centers. The words were printed on the computer, cut out and edges inked.

The plate is one of three that I found. This one had the animals around the edge, another one had the entire alphabet on it and the last one had nursery rhymes. You never know what you may find at flea markets or garage sales!

We'd be delighted to have you join us at Make My Monday this week!

Ooh La La and Make My Monday

Hello! I hope this week finds you both happy and healthy. Today I have two cards to share. First up is my card for Ooh La La Creations.

For this card, I used papers from the Yesterday's Memories CD. The image is titled "Cosmos". The theme is "All that Glitters" so I added some sparkly gems to the centers of a few flowers. Finally, I added a vellum butterfly and the words "for you".

The challenge this week at Make My Monday is "The Sea". For my card, I used the fish and seaweed stamps from the new SU set called "By the Tide". I stamped them with distress inks. The turtle is an older SU stamp that I colored with green marker. I added some bubbles with a dot stamp and Salty Ocean distress ink.

Both Ooh La La and Make My Monday are challenge blogs and we'd love to have you link up your projects. Thanks for stopping by - have a great week!
