Gecko Galz/ Aurora Wings card

This month, the Gecko Galz design team is partnering with Aurora Wings. We were sent some of the beautiful digi images available in their Etsy shop. I made a card with paper pieced flowers.

I sized the digi image in Photoshop and then printed the flowers on Gecko papers. I cut the flowers out and glued them to my original image. I love paper piecing - it's like a puzzle - just remember to build from the bottom layer up!

I also made three St. Patrick's Day tags, featuring Gecko Galz images and papers. The kraft tag is stenciled with the Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil and Distress inks. Directions for these tags are in my dt gallery on the Gecko Galz blog.

My Little Valentine

This is my first Smash layout for the Life in Details challenge blog. February's challenge is to use pink and red on the page(s).

I worked in my pink Smash book. The title of the pink book is "Pretty Style" and so I am going to use it for my great-niece Aria.

Submit your own pink and red Smash book pages for a chance to win a digi pack. Smashing is such fun - grab a book and join us at Life in Details!

2 new collages

I am sharing two collages I made last week.

The first collage uses an image from Gecko Galz. I love the sweet face of this little girl!! She is part of the Darling Girls ephemera collection for February. All the papers are from Gecko.

The second collage features a lady chef. I stamped, chalked, cut out and assembled her, using stamps from Character Constructions. Her apron was stamped on patterned paper. The banner is LYB and the word flags and cooking pot are Jillibean Soup.

Art Journaling

I love working in my art journals, using my inks, paints, sprays, stencils and stamps! My favorite journal is a 9" by 9" spiral bound sketch book by Bee Paper Company. I also use the large journal by Dylusions.

Today I'd like to share four journal pages I've done. On the first page, I've used Distress inks by Tim Holtz, stamps, rub-ons and stencils. The image was purchased from Ingrid Djikers.

The next three pages are from my 9 x 9 journal. The first one is a bit Steampunk and on this page I used Tim Holtz Distress inks, rub-ons, stamps, washi tape, old ledger paper and other bits and pieces from my stash. The second page is done with a beautiful image from Gecko Galz. I used a doily to stencil in the top left corner and added more pieces of the doily and stamping behind the image. I tore bits of mulberry paper to represent seaweed. The third page makes me think of spring - I used soft pastel colors in paint and ink, along with dots stamped with bubble wrap for the background. The tags are dyed with Easter egg dyes.

It is so much fun to work in the journals!
