Tag Tuesday

The theme this week at Tag Tuesday is Dreams. I dug into my stash and came up this tag, featuring a dreamy Gecko Galz image.

I love making tags and I love the themes at Tag Tuesday! Plus using items from my stash is great! For this tag, I used an older Basic Grey patterned paper tag and stenciled on it with the Tim Holtz "Gothic" stencil. I added some silver metal stars, two die cut flowers, a butterfly and the word strip "hazy day-dreams".

Pop over to the Tag Tuesday blog and see all of this week's awesome tags!

DT shares

Hi! Today I'd like to share some design team projects from this week. First up is a "trash to treasure" project that was on the Unruly Paper Arts blog.

My sister gave me this piece to re-purpose. It looked like a book, but it opened. This is how the cover looked when I got it.

And this is how the cover looked after I altered it. I added patterned paper, a gold doily, a wooden egg that I painted and speckled and a rubber stamped image from Rubber Dance Art Stamps.

The inside looked like this. I liked the gold color, but it had gotten quite worn so I repainted it. Then I layered in papers, tulle, flowers, lace and more! The two lady stamps are also from Rubber Dance Art Stamps. I used Tim Holtz inks to add color to them, as I did with the bird on the cover.

I am very please with how this turned out! I loved using the Rubber Dance Art Stamps - they stamp clearly and there are so many wonderful images to choose from!

Next up is a card made for this week's challenge at Make My Monday. The challenge is to use the color green. I had some pretty Moxxie St. Patrick's Day paper that I used to make a card. I also added a Jillibean soup die cut and a Moxxie rub on and sticker.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful, creative day!

A Scenic Card

The theme this week at Make My Monday Challenge Blog is "Scenic". I looked through my many stamps, sure that I had at least one scenery stamp. Nothing! So I used a piece of scenic paper instead.

The paper is from Paper House and the stickers are from Moxxie. The other dt members have really lovely stamped scenic cards - please check them out here - and then join us with a scenic card of your own!

The City and Frame It...

The themes for Make My Monday and Tag Tuesday are the title for this post.

At the Make My Monday Challenge blog, we are featuring projects with a city theme. My card uses Basic Grey for the background paper, a chipboard "Here I Am" piece, Jolee's sun sticker and a blue bike transparency.

At Tag Tuesday this week, we are sharing tags with the theme "Frame It". My tag has inking and stamping on the background, along with items from my stash. The metal frame is from the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).

We'd love for you to link up at MMM with a project of your own. Also, please check out the other Tag Tuesday players interpretation of this week's theme.

March Sports Madness Hop

Hi and welcome to the Moxxie Blog Hop!

The theme for our hop this month is "March Sports Madness". I made a layout of my great-nephew, Rocco, playing basketball in his front yard. I used Moxxie's Fun Run (the blue papers) and Basketball lines for this page. Both of these new lines go together beautifully and I love how the page turned out!

The page is done in a grid style. The photo below shows one of the boxes on the layout. I die cut a scalloped heart from the Fun Run paper, inked the edges in black and added the Hot Shot sticker. The heart was layered onto a square of the Basketball paper. A basketball from the sticker sheet was added to the corner.

Here are pictures of the Basketball and Fun Run lines that I used on my layout.

And now, on to the Sports Madness Hop! Visit the designers' blogs to see sports related projects using Moxxie's Basketball, Fun Run and Tiny Dancer lines. And of course you will have a chance to win a prize. (The details are below.)

Celebrating and Enjoying Art Every Day

Nothing makes me happier than seeing art of some kind. Whether it's a painting, collage, figurine or even graffiti - art can be found everywhere!

There are many ways to enjoy art in today's technological age. While I still love to visit art galleries or museums in person, now I can "visit" these places all over the world just by logging onto my computer.

However, there is nothing that compares to owning pieces of art. I enjoy the texture of a woven basket and the colors and craftsmanship of a German nutcracker. A collage by my favorite artist inspires me to work on my own art.

My sister has a collection of ornaments by Patience Brewster. These charming ornaments are wonderful pieces of art! Who wouldn't love a heart with a face? Or an alligator wearing shoes?

You can visit Patience Brewster's ornaments page and find a piece of art to own. A piece that makes you happy and makes you smile. Because isn't that what art is all about?

Make My Monday

The theme this week at Make My Monday is "Girly Birthday." I used this image of a lovely lady in a hat and the beautiful background paper from Gecko Galz to make my card. I cut a scalloped circle into the pink paper and adhered the lady image underneath the circle. I punched three of the corners with a Martha Stewart punch and then layered the piece onto a blue/green cardstock card base.

The word Timeless is a transparency I've had in my stash for quite some time. It's from K&Co. I looked the word up in the Merriam Webster online dictionary. The meaning is "staying beautiful or fashionable as time passes". I thought that went perfectly with the very lovely lady and her hat!

Just a note - we have changed the MMM blog. It's now called Make My Monday Challenge Blog and has a new address as well. We hope you will join us for this week's challenge!
