Two challenges you can enter!

I want to share two challenges that you can enter - they have prizes offered, with a chance for you to win!!

First up is Gecko Galz. The customer challenge this month is Country Charm. All you need to do is use at least one Gecko product in your project and link it up. Details are here. I made a bunny for this month.

I love making home decor items and so I'm always watching for pieces to buy that I can decorate. This little bunny is wooden and he's from the Target dollar spot. He was plain, no decoration except yellow paint around the edge. I used paper from the "Country Stitches" paper pack and covered the body. Then I used a Tim Holtz die (Tattered Flowers) and various Gecko Galz papers to cut and layer the flowers. I added a gold resin flower from Stampin' Up in the center.

Next up is a tag I made for Tag Tuesday. The theme was chosen by Chrissie and is Faces. She is offering a prize and the details are on her blog, which you can link to from the Tag Tuesday main page.

It just so happens that my sister and I attended a show last week called Adventures in Stamping. It's a stamper's dream and I wait for it all year long! We purchased the new Tim Holtz Hipster Animals stamps and dies. We also splurged and bought the new Distress Oxide inks!! We had fun trying them out the other day and I decided to make the ostrich for one of my face tags. I used the oxide inks to cover the tag - I love the soft look - and then I stamped the ostrich with Walnut Stain Distress ink, die cut it out and colored it with chalks. The word EPIC was stamped and punched out in a star shape. I used the die cut and green paper to make the glasses.

Statue of Liberty

I'm sharing a tag I made that features a World Heritage Site found in the United States - the Statue of Liberty. I remember visiting it when I was in high school. It's amazing!

I stamped the statue in green ink onto a kraft oval die cut. The banner pieces were punched with a Stampin' Up punch and I covered the tag with a map design (patterned paper from Hobby Lobby). The word "freedom" is from Tim Holtz.

Tag Tuesday - Share your heritage

Hello, just a quick post, sharing a tag of my Dad. He was 8 years old and it was his first day of school for that year. I love the clothes he's wearing and the little schoolbag in his hand. Perfect first day outfit!

Alice in Wonderland

Hello! Today I am sharing a tray that I made using Alice in Wonderland images from Gecko Galz. I love the Wonderland characters and was able to use lots of my favorites in this project!

The images are from the "Go Ask Alice" and "Wonderland" collage sheets. The background papers are from the Wonderland paper pack. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the large tea cups.

Next up is a card I made. I sized and fussy cut the white rabbit from the Wonderland set. He is standing on a tea cup sized and fussy cut. Both were pop dotted to the blue background paper which is called "Wonderland". That was attached to "Shanghi" paper from the Great Adventure paper pack and then put on a black card base. I added a clock and metal tea pot charm from my stash.

Finally, I have three tags I made. The tags were made with various Gecko Galz papers and images from the "Domestic Goddess" collage sheets.

My Tag Tuesday Challenge - Things with Wings

Welcome to our 5th challenge at Tag Tuesday! I chose the theme "Things with Wings". Since we just made bird tags, let's say no birds this time. Lots of other things have wings, such as angels, insects, dragons, airplanes, Pegasus, fairies, flying monkeys (think Wizard of Oz!). You can even add wings to people, animals, hearts, or whatever you'd like!

Here are three tags I made. The first is done with Tim Holtz dies (globe & word) and an airplane sticker (Jolee's).

The second tag has a stenciled background with flowers & a German scrap sun. I added paper butterfly wings to a cabinet card girl and a Tim Holtz sticker with the words "with brave wings she flies".

The third tag has an inked, stamped and stenciled background. The dragonflies are cut from Stampin' Up dies.

Birds & Nests

The newest theme at Tag Tuesday is "Birds & Nests". I do love to watch the birds at the feeders in our backyard. We get a large variety and I keep a birding journal to record what I see. Lots of woodpeckers come to the suet feeder, including two large pileated woodpeckers. Of course, the squirrels, bunnies and chipmunks browse among the dropped birdseed looking for a snack. It's loads of fun to see them all!

I made a few tags for this challenge. I hope that you will make a tag and join us at Tag Tuesday!

For my first tag, I used a sprayed tag and then added a doily, Gecko Galz bird which I fussy cut and some pink SU twine. I also used the word stickers "Fine feathers make fine birds". I die cut a pink tag reinforcement from the Tim Holtz tag die set.

For my second tag, I used a kraft tag as the base and covered it with Tim Holtz vellum. The die cut is from Tim Holtz, the yellow finch is from K&Company and I painted the egg. (I buy flat backed wooden eggs from the craft store, paint them blue and then speckle on brown paint.)

And now my third and final tag - it is made from a tag I covered with patterned paper, Gecko Galz image, bird sticker and a GG nest that I chalked.

Happy Spring!

Don't you love Spring? A season of new beginnings and time for one of my favorite holidays - Easter. I have a card to share with you today featuring the Easter Bunny. This wonderful image is from Gecko Galz.

To make the card, I used the bunny image from the Easter Wishes collage set and sized it in Photoshop. The red paper is "Shanghi" from the Great Adventure paper pack and the yellow crackle background paper is "Provance" from the Vanity Fair paper pack. I cut the red paper and image with my new Spellbinders label dies. Then I added flowers, a kraft bow and Tim Holtz word stickers.

I would also like to share a card I made for the Customer Challenge at Gecko Galz. The theme is Fairy Garden and you still have time to join in. (You can get all the details here). My card features an image from the Pretty Birds collage sheet. The background paper is "Hydrangea Dreams" from the Floral Symphony paper pack. The music paper is from the Love Potion #9 set.
